בהרצאה שהתקיימה ב"כניסה לחיים מתמשכים" מריה מדברת על פריצות הדרך האחרונות של המדע בתחום הארכת החיים, ומעלה את אתגר התקציב הקטן שהמדע מקבל כדי לפתור את הבעיה הגדולה ביותר של האנושות – זיקנה ומוות.
